NHC vice-minister inspects medical reform in Jiangsu

Wang Hesheng, vice-minister of the National Health Commission (NHC), inspected comprehensive medical reform in Nanjing, East China's Jiangsu province on Apr 25 and 26.
Wang and his delegation learned about reform progress as they visited two grassroots hospitals in Jiangning district of Nanjing and talked with their medical workers face to face.
They also held a symposium to learn the comprehensive medical reform and the province's typical measures.
Wang affirmed Jiangsu's reform achievements. He said that reform should focus on making medical services affordable and accessible as well as strengthening hospital management, adding that the reform should also improve medical resources distribution and intensify supervision and management of the health industry.
The medical reform needs more innovative mechanism and stronger leadership to strengthen monitoring and supervision and to actively publicize the reform and good practices, said Wang.
